No sailors were tried yesterday for obstructing transport

The trial was adjourned until April 11, due to the passage of the opening hours of the Court.

The variety, coupled with the seriousness of other cases and that the case with the sailors accused of a single union Kavala was at the bottom of the table yesterday's hearing in the Court of Kavala, meant to delay the trial that employed the latest days the local public. The defendants, over twenty in number, arrived early morning in Kavala, in the first voyage of the ferry boat from the port of Prinos. Outside the courthouse Kavala gathered also members of the All Workers Militant Front (P.A.ME.) and representatives of other clubs in order to stand by the defendants. Among them was the Mayor Thassos Hadjiemmanuil Costas, who participated last Wednesday in a rally held at the Port. The trial of the seamen had the numbers 30 and 31 in case list of cases. The 25 sailors and some board members of a single union accused of obstructing transportation offense made according to the indictment, in a strike in the industry in March 2010. The prosecution brought against them, following complaints made by the owner of the company "Mitsopoulos Consortium" and the Port Authority of Kavala.
