Meeting of the Network of Ecological Organizations of AMΘ with the regional governor Αρι Giannakidι

The Environmental Movement Thassos attended a meeting of the Network of Ecological Organizations of Eastern Thrace-Mak. the regional governor Giannakidis Mars.
 

The topics discussed were:
The situation with pressure from mining companies to exploit gold deposits in the Rhodopes.
The issue of exploitation of lignite in the plain of Drama for energy production. It was stressed that vigilance and concerted action to prevent exploitation projects in both cases.
About the Regional Plan of waste management and promotion of biological treatments for the treatment of municipal wastewater. The responsibilities over to these issues, the Region and the new municipalities as shown in the 'Kallikrates'.
